[ PODCAST / FILMED IN TORONTO ]

The Brand Growth Podcast

I sit down with the marketers, agency founders and creators who have actually built influencer programs, and I ask the practical questions. Every episode is on YouTube.

[ WHY IT EXISTS ]

Nobody writes down the hard part.

Big brands already know influencer marketing works. What most of them do not know is how to run it at size.

One creator is easy. Two hundred creators, a real budget, and a CMO asking what it returned is where it falls apart. There is almost no honest information out there about that part.

So every episode is one practitioner and the same questions. Where do you start. How do you pick creators. What does it cost. What breaks at size. How do you prove it worked.

Filmed in Toronto. Each one runs under 40 minutes.

03

Wendy, eight years in B2B marketing

Pexels as a community intern in 2018, social through the Canva acquisition, brand partnerships at Jobber working with home service creators, then Relay in fintech. Why the B2B buying cycle runs long and rests on trust, why YouTube is the safest bet, and why she still reads comment sections one at a time instead of handing it to a tool.

02

Ameerah, who owns Orris Labs

A custom perfume business with studios in Toronto, Mississauga and Niagara-on-the-Lake, started during covid with an overnight pop-up. Three stores, social posts and paid ads, and she still says word of mouth is the thing brands underestimate the most.

01

Monalisa Maposa, community and marketing at WakeWater

She got the job after meeting the company at a run club, which tells you most of what you need to know about how this corner of marketing works. She still trains and races with the same Toronto running community she markets to, and WakeWater is now the hydrator in residence for Queen West Runners, a club that meets at a downtown Lululemon. What Lululemon's marketing managers call her for, how the relay from Toronto up to Blue Mountain gets planned and paid for, and why she turns brand money down when the product does not fit her.
