[ SPEAKING / TORONTO ]

What I speak about

Creator vetting, what customer acquisition actually costs, and how brands should structure influencer deals. This page is for producers, podcast hosts, journalists and event organisers working out whether I am a fit.

[ TOPICS ]

Three things I can take a room through.

Each one comes with the numbers behind it, not a slide of logos.

01

Creator vetting

The 4-signal model I use to work out whether a creator's audience will actually buy for a given brand. Audience overlap, sponsored-post performance, repeat-brand history, comment authenticity. Follower count is not one of them.

02

What acquisition costs

Why paid acquisition gets more expensive every quarter, and why an ambassador program compounds the other way. Built off a database of hundreds of thousands of sponsorships across tens of thousands of brands.

03

Deal structure

Flat fee, performance, hybrid, affiliate, ambassador. When each one wins, and why most brands default to the worst one for what they are trying to do.

[ FORMATS ]

How I am useful on a stage.

  • A 20 to 40 minute talk on any of the three topics above
  • A panel seat, as long as the other seats disagree with me
  • A workshop run on the room's own numbers rather than my examples
  • A guest spot on a marketing, growth, direct-to-consumer or creator-economy show
  • An internal session for a brand team that is about to start with creators

[ WHAT I BRING ]

Where the material comes from.

I am Senior Partnerships Manager at Influencer Advisory in Toronto. I helped grow the agency past 50 brands and built the sponsorship database it prices deals from.

That means the examples are campaigns I worked on and numbers I can show, not a reading of somebody else's write-ups.

I also host The Brand Growth Podcast, where I ask other practitioners the same questions. A lot of what I say on a stage started as an answer a guest gave me on camera.

[ NOT A FIT ]

What I turn down.

Saying no early saves everybody a call.

  • Events with no audience overlap with the people who buy influencer marketing
  • Anything that wants a logo wall instead of numbers
  • A panel where every seat is going to say the same thing
  • A slot that needs the talk written around a sponsor
